Reset a user's authentication information (email, cell phone, etc.)

Access: User management > User profile > Reset authentication information

This screen allows an Application manager or an hmtoggle_plus1authorized User - access to functions to reset a user’s authentication information or password that is locked (or if the authentication information is forgotten).

The information is displayed according to the user type selected. For example, only the Email address section will be displayed in the Employee - access to self-service only or Contact only screen. This screen is not available for a Services user (used for an API).  

1Click the Reset button in the desired section.

The Reset all button is displayed if at least one of the following elements is present: Email address, Cell phone, Security question and Authentication options if you forgot your password.

The Validé Validated icon is displayed when email address or cell phone number is properly validated. This does not prevent you from resetting the information.      

2In the confirmation window, click OK.

3A message will confirm that the reinitialization was successfully completed.

The options are deleted and the user can update their information upon their next authentication (validate their email address, cell phone number, etc.).  

If you reset an Application Manager’s authentication information, their calling code is also reset.

Things to remember

You can view the details regarding a reset information (who did it and when it was done) using the User security modifications function (User management > Tools).
