Entering CCQ payroll data

Access: Payroll > Data entry > Enter pay (or other functions: Separate payments or YTD adjustments)

A Construction column containing six (6) CCQ-specific fields (Sector, Occupation, Schedule, Apprentice, Local and Region) is displayed in the data entry table when the CCQ Employee box is checked in the employee file (see Configuring CCQ employee files) and the earning selected or entered is configured for the CCQ (see Viewing the CCQ earnings and deductions list).

You can modify the value of a CCQ field during data entry by selecting the desired item from a field’s drop-down list. When a field is modified the content of the fields that follow is erased and the drop-down list content is automatically updated. For example: If the Sector field is modified, the Occupation, Schedule, and Apprentice fields will be blank. If the Schedule field is modified, the Apprentice field will be blank.

Warning

IMPORTANT

oEnsure CCQ compliance of the data entered, as it is included on the CCQ report (view CCQ Report - Example).

oTo correct a CCQ employee’s pay: Completely cancel the employee’s invalid pay, and enter a new pay. It is the best way to ensure CCQ report integrity; if you carry out YTD adjustments or earnings adjustments in a current regular payroll, the report will be incorrect.

Click on the Construction hyperlink in the information summary at the top of the screen to view an employee's CCQ-specific fields.

Content of the Schedule field drop-down list is determined by the values available in the rates table and the sector and occupation entered.

Content of the Apprentice field drop-down list is determined by the values available in the rates table and the sector, appendix, and occupation entered.

The Local field can be modified when the employee’s union is present in the union locals table. If the union is not in the union locals table, the field is greyed out.

The rate that appears when adding an earning originates from the employee file. If one of the values in the Sector, Occupation, Schedule or Apprentice fields is modified, the rate is automatically modified.
The rate is displayed only if there is a value in the four above-mentioned fields.
