Activating or deactivating weekly taxes massively

Access: Payroll > Mass update > Weekly taxes

This function is available for companies that have a payroll frequency of 26 pay periods.

It allows you to activate or deactivate Weekly taxes massively to all employees who have entry entered or generated in the payroll functions (see the following list) for a specific pay period. List of functions: Enter pay, Separate payments and functions of the Mass entry section (Payments, Adjustments and Bank payments).

Important

Weekly taxes: For an annual payroll frequency of 26 pay periods, you can check this box only if you have vacations to pay for a future pay period (vacation paid in advance). Its function is to set the QPP exemption and calculate the federal and provincial taxes on an annual payroll frequency of 52 pay periods. The employee will thus be paying a little more taxes.

For any other situation, the QPP/CPP exemption and taxes should always comply with the payroll frequency of your company.

1Once you have entered the payroll data, access the Weekly taxes function.

2Under Mass initialization, select the Period.

3In Initialization, select “Activate weekly taxes”.

Select “Deactivate weekly taxes” to remove weekly taxes.

4Click on Save to complete the procedure.

Tips and tricks

You can uncheck the Weekly taxes box of one or more employees directly in the Enter pay function.
