Cheque: According to this payment method, an employee is paid by cheque.

Cheque/deposit: Payment method which allow up to three deposits in three different financial institutions as well as a cheque issued for the left over net amount of an employee’s pay.

CNT: Abbreviation for Commission des normes du travail (in Quebec only). One of the mandates of the commission is to transmit information to the public, employers and employees as well as ensuring the respect of the Labour Standards law.

Contractual (employee type): Employee type identifying contractual employment (variable length).

CPA: Abbreviation for the Canadian Payroll Association.

CPP: Abbreviation for the Canada Pension Plan.
